A jailbreak tweak called Record ’n’ Torch has been updated to support iOS 8. We bet you can guess what it does.
Apple’s iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus both posses a pretty impressive
camera each, both for taking still photos and moving video. The improved
flash that allows for more lifelike results is also welcome, but
unfortunately Apple still doesn’t allow the flash to be activated during
the recording of video, something that we have never really understood
the reason for.
Limitations like this are the kind of thing that the jailbreak
community thrives on though. which is why Record ’n’ Torch is so
obvious, yet so awesome at the same time.
As the name of the tweak heavily suggests, once installed, it will
allow users to activate the flash, or torch, when you’re well into the
process of recording a video. That means that if you had started
recording a video and realized that the whole scene is getting darker by
the minute, then you can turn on the camera flash without having to
stop the video recording itself, which is very handy if you’re asking
us..
Importantly, the tweak recently received an update that brings it up
to speed as far as support for iOS 8 is concerned, which at this point
is a box that all the best tweaks need to have ticked in order to remain
relevant. Really, who isn’t running iOS 8 at this point?
