Microsoft has announced the launch of the much anticipated special ‘Gold’ editions of the Lumia 830 and Lumia 930 smartphones. The phones will be given a slight oomph from the cosmetic department with a dash of the color gold around the otherwise steel colored bands. More details on the devices can be found right here.
There were quite a few leaks flying around the Internet with regards to the existence of upcoming iterations of the Lumia 830 and the Lumia 930 smartphones, and today all of that has actually culminated towards the release of gold editions of the two devices. Interestingly, the Nokia branding continues to live on the two phones despite being new editions to devices that were released before the time when Microsoft finally ditched the Nokia branding on all its Windows Phone smartphones.

It’s that time again, and even with CES going on in the background and new hardware being announced every five minutes, we just don’t want you to miss out on any kind of bargain. Here we have quite a few iOS apps that should cost money but now do not, and some of them used to cost as much as $5.

Apple has made a concerned effort to try and improve most parts of its iOS platform in recent years. The release of iOS 8 represented a significant technological advancement for the platform, and although some may disagree due to the amount of bugs still present, it actually feels like the best version of the iPhone and iPad OS to date. One area that Apple has concentrated on, albeit extremely silently, is the native Phone app. With that in mind, if the Phone app doesn’t live up to your requirements, or you’re looking for something a little additional and you happen to be jailbroken, then the Area Code Display Pro package could potentially be the solution you’ve been seeking.
Kodak is a name that was synonymous with photography, and later it lent itself to all kinds of technology. At this year’s Consumer Electronic Show Kodak also became a smartphone maker, with the iconic brand adorning an Android phone that is designed for those who are a little further through life.
With a 5-inch 720p screen, the IM5 isn’t going to compete too much with the iPhone or whatever the latest phone from Samsung happens to be this week. Instead, the customized build of Android that runs atop the 1.7GHz octa-core processor is designed to give older people a smartphone that they can use without having to delve too deeply into its inner workings or know how to eek every last ounce of performance out of Android. The simplified interface isn’t going to appeal to the super-geek – especially with just 1GB of RAM and 8GB of internal memory backing the whole thing up – but then again, it’s not supposed to.
